Planning on going as Char Aznable from Mobile Suit Gundam in a Con coming up but I have zero experience with making costumes. The gloves and the black/gold parts, especially the helmet are my main worries. Any ideas? I wanna avoid spending a fortune on a cheap premade costume

What would be the best way to do the visor and buckle, other stuff the belt for Char? I've already worked everything else out. I'm thinking about using thin cardboard for the belt stuff, but unsure about the visor. I could use cardboard but it'd look crinkled when bent around my face. I'm thinking of going to Joann's/Home Depot and seeing if there's some thin, plastic stuff I could use for it.
