Thanks so much. Yeah, I figured the cream makes it look like an actual school uniform. I think loose socks would be ideal rather than black tights but I'll have to wait until May to wear those out. I'm guessing black/dark brown loafers would probably look better.

I'll have to try that out, thank you; I've been meaning to buy some cream/off white tights anyways. I only have white ones but I'm a little skeptical about using them for this coord since cream and white don't go that well together sometimes.

how do the seagulls think about pettis being a bit too long?
I have this wonderful petti, thats just at the bottom of my knees in length. it's really nice, but i'm afraid It wont fit under the BL L314 I ordered ( I'm 5'5" by the way). any help here? I *could* trim it since it's just tulle (it's a petti I added more tulle to), but the circumference is massive and takes ages to cut the whole way round/ do you guys think it will be ok, or do I have to trim?

Hey Seagulls, I need your help. I've lurked here for quite a while, and have become infatuated by the lolita style, and I wanted to get into it. I know what to do and not to do to avoid being an ita, too. However, I'm pretty much broke. I know Lolita costs quite a bit to pull off ($239 for a burandou dress for instance, and even more for the rest of the coord). I've fallen head-over-heels with some dresses, and then looked at the pice tag, and sometimes I'd to do sweet or classic Lolita, but be not sure how to start a good coord. This is especially true with overly-decorated sweet lolita coords. Can you more experienced Lolitas maybe give me a few tips to start off? I'd like some tips on the financial portion and coordinating better, choosing a dress, etc. Thanks!
