This is my first time on this board in a couple years but I don't recall people getting upset over AU shit unless it was some cringey ship-related thing? Like those two girls who cosplayed Link and Midna dressed in horrible "wedding" attire they bought at Good Will that was posted in the Cringe thread years back.

Maybe I'm biased because I think AU fanart can be cute sometimes, like I really like that OP image. But like another anon said, unless OP is really talented at wig styling and has proper accessories no one's going to know who they are.
