Any tips for westerners that want old school hime bangs? Most of the examples I’ve seen are Asian lolitas, and I know from experience trying to translate haircuts between Asian and western hair types and face shapes can be tricky. I’ve seen some bad attempts and I think it has to do with the different ways bangs are cut in general in japan vs the west. Are there rules of thumb for how far out past your eyes they should start or if the bottom is angled? I try to interpret street snaps and show them to hair dresser friends of mine and they just get confused as to what I really want because I’m not sure where the hair is coming from, whether it’s side hair or top hair if that makes sense. And to be clear I mean the thick, short old school type, not the long thin strands you see with air bangs
