You mean they'd repost your pics here or somewhere else for the purpose of shitting on you? Because if they posted you in the ita thread just for wearing an apron they'd be laughed off the board for being retarded vendetta-chans who don't know shit about lolita.
I understand why you'd rather not bother, honestly as much as I hate using this word, they do sound retarded; but even if they did repost your pics to supposedly make fun of you (for what, wearing an accessory?), it's not a reason for concern imo.

These oldschool threads are the only reason I come on here. I almost left Lolita last year because I fell so severely out of love with it. It took me a while to realize it's because I don't like modern Lolita. I mean, I do love it, but it's not what I fell in love with; it's not something I want to wear regularly. Oldschool was usually more "wearable" than modern Lolita.

I agree with your entire post. I do think the collectable approach is probably what has allowed the fashion to thrive. Modern Lolita has gotten so extravagant that it is very costume like, not that oldschool Lolita doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I miss the "alt subculture" feeling the fashion used to have, and it's perfect imperfection. The pursuit of perfection in modern Lolita is so exhausting and unrealistic, even if it is beautiful.

And I am so nostalgic for oldschool. I know people tend to bash anyone with nostalgia but I don't think there's anything wrong with being nostalgic as long as you aren't romanticizing something negative. A lot of people hate on people who romanticize the 50's but honestly you can romanticize the aesthetic and ideals while still acknowledging things were shitty and not perfect in reality and there's nothing wrong with that.
