My previous office drug-tested everyone because the same building had a factory floor in it. Even though I wasn't at the factory, the insurance policy was "we'll lower your premium if EVERYONE in the building does the test" so they made everyone do it.

Then I took a higher paying position at a software company and no. one. cares. Drugs aren't even in the employee handbook (which covers stuff all the way to reporting hours if you're a reserve Idaho national guard member. We're not even NEAR Idaho).

One of the heads of the IT department got only a verbal scolding after he kept going out, partying all night, and coming straight into work in the same clothes.

THAT would make a lot of sense. When I was in HS the kids who did drugs were huge douchebags about it, and I usually stayed far away. Hated them so much.

Guess it's good the real world isn't like school?
