I don't think Jessica is originally fake, maybe she is now that she is getting money, I doubt she really is into all of the stuff that she cosplays but if someone is paying her to put on a costume and look good then good for her. There are candid videos of her sitting down in her school's anime club before she even got famous. Also she does seem to have some knowledge on anime. For instance in this post, she said she likes Rahxephon (which is kind of obscured in the first place) better than NGE. If she was trying to show off she would say that she liked Evangelion better like most anime fans do but she gives her honest opinion and said is not her "cup of tea".
