/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

I'm looking to put together a cosplay of DMC3 Dante for Halloween this year. It's relatively close, so I had planned on seeing what I could get that's ready-made, even if it's getting things in pieces parts, one by one. This is just for a few casual costume parties, and I wanted to ask the board for some advice on a few areas.

First, as a detailing question, I can get a replica of the amulet necklace Dante wears, but I've noticed in most of the art it's generally not featured. I had chalked it up as probably worth skipping over, but figured I'd ask if it'd be notably missing to an observer.

Second, naturally the most concerning piece is the coat. I've found several versions which are ready-made, and they all have extremely varying levels of quality and accuracy. From some searching I've found a fairly accurate one from JoyFay, which includes a lot of details on the jacket which I've found lacking from most other versions (the studding of the belt-vest, the belt being included, etc). I have a suspicion that the photos make it look less cheaply made than it almost certainly is, though. But it's also apparently under some kind of special sale at the moment, plus I happen to live in Ohio, which is apparently relatively close to one of their warehouses. I'm assuming they'd probably make me pay full stop on shipping anyway, but hey. Ultimately, is there are a better source for this coat that I'm overlooking, given my timeframe and utter lack of skill at making this sort of thing myself? I'd just toss the pants, by the way. I already have a pair I own that's reasonably close.
