Question for anons who have experience with bleaching hair

Since I was like 13 I have been bleaching and dying my hair on and off until basically 1 and a half years ago, when I was growing my hair out from a pixie and really wanted to leave my hair alone to keep it as healthy as possible
I've mostly dyed my hair darker colors (browns and blacks) or unnatural colors like pinks and blues. I've always bleached at home with the help of my mom, and the results have always been good enough for the color I wanted, one time the color I used was too light so it didn't show up, but then I just put a darker color on.

The thing is, I'm really tempted to dye my hair again, either blonde or silver/gray. I think to get the best result I should go to a hair dresser, since I have a specific result in mind. My question is, would it be possible to get it done at a hairdresser, and then do the upkeep myself? Like the roots and stuff. My hair is a medium brown so it gets light pretty fast, and my mom would probably not mind helping out.

I've always avoided going to the hairdresser because of the cost, but I think it's the only option that's relatively safe, so I'm fine with paying a chunk to get it to be good, but I can't afford going back for bleaching every 2-3 months, I just don't have income to be able to afford that

Pic related is what I want, or something similar

We are all blessed in different ways. My hair might be long and shiny, but it's pretty limp and worthless when it comes to trying to curl or do anything with it. It also tangles like a bitch.

Here's the length I'm going for.
