/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

Oh boy this was really sad to look back on. With college I've had less time to work on cosplay, trying to work on my portfolio and finishing all my paperwork for my internship. But I plan to get back into it this year with some more work intensive cosplays.

2009: Chie from Persona 4, Zoey from Left 4 Dead, Sawyer the Cleaner from Black Lagoon, Emily from Air Gear.
No wigs, all store bought costumes with no effort, lots of closet cosplay. Only thing close to good is Zoey. I tried sewing all of Sawyers stuff and failed miserably.

2010: Poison Ivy from Batman, Emily from air Gear, Rena from Higurashi, Noodle from Gorillaz, Meryl from Metal Gear Solid
Began using wigs and makeup, finally started sewing more. Noodle was my first time fully making a cosplay [aside from the stockings] and I bought Rena but took it in majorly. Meryl was a quick closet cosplay to complete a group, but I do love her character.

2011: Heather from Silent Hill 3, Gumi from the Matryoshka video.
Finally started sewing more, heavily modified both the skirt and vest for heather as well as modifying the boots. Hoodie was bought and altered for Gumi as well as sewing the skirt and making the headband. Got caught up in school and barely did any cosplay things.

2012: Rainbow Dash from MLP and Korra from Legend of Korra
Never really watched MLP, did it for a friend since they needed a dash. Hand dyed the wig and created the shirt by sewing on the symbol. Used a pair of biking shorts for the bottoms.
Korra is the first costume I did absolutely everything for. Sewed it all and styled the wig on my own. Need to remake a bunch of things but overall proud of it. [Also did not brownface before anyone says anything. Italian and turn pretty dark in the summer. It's just my natural skin color along with some contouring with bronzer.]

I'm really excited to get better with the new costumes I'm doing.
