Would it be wrong to replicate the original dress designs if someone where to put together a SM cosplay? I don't know if her dress was original or not, but I like the idea of characters in legit Christian Dior and others.

this seems like it'd be relevant here.
considering all of this, Naoko probably did base the casual outfits off of streetwear she saw.
Remember that anytime you want to cosplay a casual outfit.

Also a reenactor. So let me tell you why you're full of bullshit.
>cosplay =/= reenacting
>this is a cosplay of Kuroshitsuji. Its been a known thing that the design is copied off Sleepy Hollow since forever but that doesn't change that its a Kuroshitsuji cosplay. Pic related, everyone knows about these copy fashions in Sailor Moon, but no one sees a Princess Serenity outfit and goes "oh Christian Dior!"
>Sleepy Hollow takes place in 1799/1800. Kuroshitsuji takes place in the later reign of Queen Victoria, so we're talking a 70-80 year difference. I'm not sure what kind of reenactor you are but you should be able to figure out why a Victorian cosplay doesn't use pocket hoops...
>where in the hell do you even see pocket hoops in those shots of Christina Ricci? Girl has petticoats and it looks like a bum roll, but not full on pocket hoops
