New-to-cosplay me thought that was just how long wigs were supposed to act. I tried everything to maintain it, but it just kept getting worse and worse. I'd scrap it if it wasn't in storage already. It was tangled near the base of the wig cap for me too, all matted and shit and it made me break out. Granted I was probably going to break out anyway because it was a summer con, but it probably didn't help any.
