I work in a fabric store, and I can tell you that most of the time, unless you make a special order, whatever is in the store is generally all that store has at the moment. A lot of the times, the restock that a store receives is a random mix of notions like pins, zippers and thread.

If you need trim that badly, ask if you can make a special order instead of waiting around and acting like the employees should be able to summon what you need from out of their ass.

And if you really need it, call other stores, find out the SKU number of the item and ask if they have it. Better yet, just order it online.
