I'd suggest Google or Wikipedia for specific Japanese armor terms; that's not an area I'm really familiar with yet. In case the MS Paint text is hard to read, here is the list of terms:

>1. sarashi (binding across stomach/chest. Wide/thick non-stretch cotton)
>2. juban (under-kimono. Lightweight cotton)
>3. kimono (silk??)
>4. kaku obi (not seen in the image but you'll want one over the kimono/under the hakama. Men's obi are about half the width of women's hanhaba obi. You could make it but I'd probably buy one myself. Heavyweight ...silk? You'll want lots of interfacing probably)
>5. hakama (medium- to heavyweight cotton or linen, something that will hold pleats well [aka not too much polyester]. Note that men's hakama are different from women's hakama, in that they will have a backboard, split legs [pants, not a skirt], and are worn lower on the waist)
>6. dou (chest plate? according to Wikipedia I guess. Better double-check before listening to me)
>7. kote (see above)
>8. uwa-obi (for attaching your sword. Linen/cotton according to Wikipedia, though I'd try to see if I could get it to look as puffy as it does with something to stuff it maybe)
>9. haori (shinsengumi-style - there are loads of references to be found via Google. Probably silk)
>10. tabi (black split-toe socks)
>11. zouri (the shoes)
>12. sageo (cord attached to the sword's sheath so you can, in turn, attach it to your uwa-obi)

Google will be your friend, as it is mine whenever I try to do anything kimono-related. Immortal Geisha's forums (now defunct, but still searchable) have a lot of information relating to kimono, even if armor won't be covered much. You could buy the haori himo, or use shoelaces probably - if you really wanted to make it, there's a tool you can buy to make obijime with, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Good luck!
