Hey, I know you're frustrated, but please believe that a wig would do wonders for your cosplay. You don't need to spend a huge amount of money on one (pic related is one I found with relative ease, it's $13, and brushing out the curls would give great volume and curls for Smokey). It seems unnecessary and small, but it will really make you resemble the character more, and you wont have to worry about styling your hair each morning that you decide to wear the cosplay. SU characters always have super fluffy, voluminous hair, and a wig is much easier to tease and style and to hold the style.
