short weeb story for something that happened recently.

>morgan brings up how in japan it's become trendy in recent years to bring your own chopsticks to a restaurant

>everyone is extremely put off
>why did we even invite you
>rest of the meal is awkward and filled with people actively expressing disinterest in trying/sharing food

You do realize that lolita is actually the exact opposite of feminist. It has nothing to do with being empowered by 'non sexual' clothing. It's feminine and demure as fuck. It was created from a fashion that took inspiration from clothing that expressed pure classic femininity and was meant to express it in a completely docile way. It also was created to mimic much of the gendered ideals that America held in the 1950s.

The only way it could be considered feminist in nature in any aspect is by westerners who don't understand it.

Feminism doesn't exist in this way at all in Japan in the slightest. Honestly, Japan was more feminist before WW2 and the US set them back a great deal and they never ended up bouncing back.

So honestly people who think lolita has any ties with feminism are misinformed, applying western ideals on to non-western things to try to prove a point or just stupid.

I'm not entirely sure you know what you're talking about. Things like dream trance and happy hardcore are the genres of that weeb trance/electro music from early 2000s. It has definitely become a weeb style of music, mostly due to how much it was played at con raves around mid 2000s.
