breast side definitely plays a factor, but if you've got a small ribcage (the section above the breasts, like armpit to armpit), you could potentially disguise a larger cup size if it adheres to the flare and flow of the dress.

i made a little diagram--the models' waist and hip sizes and shapes are irrelevant. the first model has slim shoulders and a slim ribcage, so the dress drapes correctly on her. she could potentially be quite fat beneath the dress, but it would not matter.

the second model, while slim, is very broad across the shoulders and through the top of the ribcage, so instead of draping correctly, the dress "hangs" essentially off of those wide features, looking boxy and awkward.

of course, an extremely large breast size would disrupt the drape of the dress regardless of how big your frame is.
