I've been to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park in lolita, ended up leaving to the car to get dressed.
But then again, I'm a huge thrill junkie and it was mostly because I was getting sick of taking hair pieces and holding my wig on, on rollercoasters.

You won't get stopped at Chessington like you do at Disney, so there won't be a problem there. Merlin Entertainments parks just want you to wear safe clothing and are more concerned about people wearing 10 inch hooker heels than some cutesy mary-janes and a puffy dress.

Pic related. It's Chessington's policy for clothes. If you aren't going on anything, chances are even the staff will want to get pictures with you. Drastically different to Disney and other American parks.
