I think you're probably talking about ZOMG Smells, right? Like BPAL, they can take a LONG time to ship, but also are liberal with tossing in extra samples.

I recommend getting a sample set first. The "squee party" is just ten scents of your choice in 1mL bottles. Each scent has a description to it, too. Go with whatever looks fun.

If choosing ten is overwhelming, they also have themed sample sets which are pre-determined. If there's a particular type of scent that you know you like, and there is a themed sample set devoted to it, I'd recommend getting that. For example, if you love smelling like cupcakes and other baked goods, try the "Why am I So Delicious?" set. Or if you have a penchant for floral scents, "All the Flowers" is a good sample set to try.

These 1mL bottles have applicators in them, and since one uses so little of perfume oil, each of them can last a long time. I've seen some people sell off the samples they didn't like on eBay, and even sometimes full bottles.

If you decide that you want the full size bottles (5 mL or 8mL), I highly recommend buying them with the glass-rod applicator caps. Makes application so much easier.

Daw thank you!

So from what I know of fragrances, each perfume is a combination of essential oils mixed with an alcohol base to keep them from separating.
A note refers to an individual oil/scent used.
A perfume has three stages of life, the top or head, which is the immediate impression you get, the middle or heart, which is what lasts, and the base or finish, which is mostly the heavier scents that balance the rest of the perfume, the most common I'd say is Musk based, and can linger.

Pic related represents the varieties you can find from perfumes, Blue for instance falls between floral and fresh.
>Top Note: Lotus, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, pink peony and gardenia. Middle Note: Rose de Mai, tuberose and orange blossom. Base Note: Sandalwood, musk, ambrette seed vetiver and oakmoss

So sorry if this is tmi! I can kind of get carried away!
