> TFW you want to post private shoot photos but you know everyone you shoot with would hate you for posting them on 4chan

>what gear are you using, how do you like/dislike it?
I use a Pentax K-3 with a 50mm 1.4 Sigma as my bread + butter, I also use a Pentax 15mm limited and a 200mm Mamiya M42 lens adapted. I get along really well with the K-3 for photos but it's a little lacking for video.

>when did you start photographing/videoing cosplayers? what do you love the most about it?
I started in 2008 at a local con when I was taking a film photography class in highschool.

>any advice for newbies or people looking to get into cosplay photography?
Photography isn't a cake walk but just give a shit and people will notice. If you ever find yourself applying the same steps to every shoot than you're doing it wrong.

Storytime
> First Katsucon
> Only ever spent time photographing people in halls without their consent
> Somehow line up a few shoots over the weekend, one with someone way 'out of my league'
> Shooting with said cosplayer, she's being really helpful even though i'm floundering on how to give direction
> Waiting for Gazoinks-bo
> Take a photo of a cosplayer WhiteDesertSun is photographing
> Unknown Chinese photogs (with L lenses) ask me if I'm sniping him
> Say yes
> They're not mad they're just like "woah bro okay"
> I say "That's how I roll"

This moment fuels a lot of my nightmares

I've worked really hard to become a different person than that
