I share the sentiment and had a big pause from 4chan since... well, /pol/ got out of control.
Doesn't help that there is now specialised hobby discord have a decent community. Often, where a sizable chunk of oldfags moved.

I would agree, but that don't stop them from doing cosplay.

I discussed with someone made a steampunk worksuit with lots of craps, like a gazmask and a air cooler because it was unbearable to wear.
40kg of metal.
The guy had a redcollar metal working job and had plan for a alluminium/titane mechanised suit.

I have a functionnal armor that would be fit for behurt but also happen to cosplay a certain character from a certain game. a good part custom made and bought, cuz I can't work complex shape in hardened steel.
I admit I would gladly work on leather, plastic or metal rather than sewing as I only have big needles and my hands, and I find make-up hard and costly.
But heh, fortunately that is needed for all cosplays.

But most big armor/monster/gundam cosplays seem to be male. and there is always a least a good batman/iron man suit in every fucking convention.

Those cosplay could be done by girls, nobody would notice or care who is under the big suit. but because of that, such project would be incompatible with E-thot aim.
You would need skills to make them, too. Those aren't really sold in mass in chinese cosplay factory.

But, maybe because metal working hobby and jobs are associed with male and the more usual sewing/makeup is associed with female, it's more than often male inside.
