As far as my appearance/body shape and size, how close am I to Merida's father, King Fergus, from the movie "Brave?"

I would also like some tips gathering all the pieces of the costume, mainly the bear-fur cape. I assume hobby lobby or a craft store has faux fur, so I will likely use that.

Now, the tartan, according to the Brave Wiki, is impossible to weave with "traditional" kilt making methods, so for the kilt itself I will go with the Black Watch Tartan.

Unless you have any suggestions for a more accurate tartan.

And a particular kilt company I like (Celtic Croft) sells great kilts that are one big length of plaid fabric that makes a kilt, then the excess fabric acts as a sash.

Besides the above site, where's a good place get buy the great kilt? Or if I can get enough Black Watch Tartan fabric I might try to make my own.
