Things changed a lot anon. Cosplay is serious brs now. You have to make your own, you have to make everything, you have to know/read the series down to the smallest details. You have to be the right race in some cases and it's no longer funny but a competitive 'hobby' now. I'm not really sure why it became that extreme but it gave me a 'I sort of give a fuck' attitude towards it.

I don't mind if you cosplay something that you haven't watched/read/etc. but if you cosplayed something just because it's "LOL popular," and you're an attention whore then yeah my jimmies will be rustled but I won't complain. I'll bitch here about it lol.

If you want another example it would be like a guy cosplaying as Naoto from P4 and he doesn't know Naoto is a girl. And he gets mad when people keep asking if he's a girl or knows if the character is a girl and doesn't answer honestly.
