My boyfriend wants me to dress more cutely and Lolita, i personally don't want to and then i feel super guilty and i enter in a self hatred spiral, i love him so much and im afraid he Will dump me for someone cuter, but i don't like dresses, then i see all the cute girls and i want to die . I hate myself sometimes

So the past few (larger) cons I've been to have honestly been not so great experiences. It just seems like every time some kind of drama follows me and ruins my good time, whether it's caused by people I room with being pissy or refusing to communicate, or just freak accidents in general that aren't anyone's fault.
For example at the con I just got back from, our ride there and back broke down. So we almost got stranded in an unfamiliar city, and trying to sort things out with AAA and trying to find a ride back honestly put a damper on our weekend.

It just seems like even when we plan ahead meticulously and cut out con friends who cause drama, it still seems to follow us. I just want to be able to go to conventions again and be able to have fun instead of just having them cause more stress. It kinda makes me wonder if I should quit going to conventions altogether if they're going to be this much trouble, but I really don't want to do that. I don't know if cons are always going to be this stressful no matter what I do, or if I just need to learn from my mistakes from previous cons and do things differently next time.

Idk /cgl/, I just got back from the con maybe it's just that post-con depression that fueled this post but if anyone has any kind of advice or tips to offer on how to make my convention experiences better in the future I'd love to hear it. Cons aren't really something I'm ready to abandon just yet.
