I'm >>10695718 and also UK based. I did Physics with a Modern Language (of which I did Japanese). I assume you're going to study Linguistics in which case the combined honours may be useful. But yes, the "with/ and" does take away from the main part of your degree. There's also something else to consider - if I were to have done "Physics and Japanese" course I couldn't become an accredited Physicist as my degree won't have included enough Physics. It's worth checking that if you can gain a type of accreditation from your main subject, that it isn't affected by the language part.

I bought some second-hand winter seifuku (similar to this photo) from Rakuten and wear them with woollen tights. I'm a grad student so was concerned it'd be inappropriate for teaching but I've only ever gotten compliments. I often wonder what school they're from however there's no identifying labels. i've noticed quite a few chinese students wearing nanchatte around my university which is nice to see.
