Pink might be better than silver if you want to pick up on the print detail, but there's nothing wrong with the silver if you keep it balanced. If you want to bring small hints of pink (and I would definitely think small hints are the best) I would go with a white bag and your idea of tiny pink stars.

Vertical stripes, really? Unless it's SUPER super subtle then no. You could definitely get away with a printed motif down the side (think IW, these are super cute and do the black/grey thing) if you don't want plain lace OTKs
