Following on from this, most DSLR cameras come with different shooting modes, including the Continuous Shooting mode. When you use it, holding the shutter release will make the camera to continue taking pictures.

This is VERY handy when you're taking photographs of cosplayers, because you're in a very situational position and need to take multiple photos in a short about of time. Doing so will let you choose which photo is the best later on, as most of the time the subject blinks, or someone in the background ruins the picture.

Here's where it's located on the Nikon D3100. It's different for almost all cameras so check your manual for where it is on yours.
