tbf though i did have a lot of problems like that ... but only 20 years ago. Now days people, especially women, get away with anything. You can walk around dressed crazy and the scallies/chavs say and do nothing.
Remember, bullies only pick on insecurities. If anyone gives you verbal, just be sound with them, make jokes, and you can give my usual explanation;
>"there's an event on, it's like a big costume party"
but honestly I haven't had trouble from anyone who didn't like how I dress, for 10 years. If your neighbourhood is that rough, take a taxi to and from the con and look into moving asap.
