I found something interesting so I thought I would share. So I'm helping a friend do research for a paper and when looking through this book called "Dance and Fashion" in the chapter about Japanese ballet and I came across a couple pages saying how ballet and Lolita share some similarities and that Innocent World's designer is influenced by ballet. The chapter also talks about ballet as a subject of shojo manga during the 50s and 60s. Pic related is a page from the book
