I just watched the video, and she's full of crap. You CANNOT fit two full-sized costumes compete with boots, chainmail, full-sized gown, sets of styled wigs, dress making tools, patterns, resin casting materials, and so forth into two duffel bags. Unless she's got some sort of D&D magical Bag of Holding there's no way you could fit all that stuff into such a confined space. And why would you keep all that stuff inside the same bag? Was she moving and decided to put all of her cosplay resources in the same spot?

I would also love to know who this person is that paid $2,000 for this commission. And why, for some reason, she is unable to pay the person back.

It sounds to me like she just wants some money. Since she claims its for a "commission" she never has to deliver anything to the people donating. You'll never see the costume and she doesn't have to create anything. All she needs to do is generate a sob story about her life and give you a thank you for the cash.

Some of us are real cosplayers and actually take pride in our craft. If you're going to call yourself a "cosplayer" and come to cosplay boards to post your cosplays then you should do the same. Otherwise you're not really a cosplayer but rather just another random retard who thinks conventions are halloween. Terrible motherfuckers like you are what give cosplay in the west a bad name. Please get out of my hobby.

This is such an annoying sentiment.

Cosplay isn't just randomly dressing up in whatever you want and running around like kids on Halloween. Maybe that's how you see it, but for many of us it is a hobby. A hobby we strive to look and be the best we can at. If "fun" is truly what you are after then being the greatest you can be should also be your goal because the spoils of being successful will net you exponentially more enjoyment. You don't actually care about "fun". You don't care at all. That is the problem.

This is not kindergarten. Not everyone is a winner. Rather than being outraged at people not accepting your mediocrity you should strive to better yourself. Cosplay is a very visual hobby based upon craft and beauty. If being good is not your concern and you think it's "fun" to look terrible then that's fine, but don't come here, don't ask questions on how to be good, and don't get mad at people who don't like your shitty cosplay attempts.

And yes, cosplay IS a serious hobby. You have to be serious at anything in order to excel at it. If you don't respect cosplay or the craft enough to do a proper job then don't waste your time or ours. And don't belittle others who DO have a genuine passion and interest by claiming we should all stop caring.


Now go have "fun" at the Halloween store and leave us alone.
