another story for the thread:
>7th grade
>girl in friend group brings a magazine to school
>i think it was shonen jump or something like that
>see advertisements in the background
>one of them has a picture of a miku figure
>scream MIKU!! loud enough for the class to hear me
>friend group shushes me
>you cannot silence miku

this was in 2009 when vocaloid was popular but not HUGE. seeing a miku figure in a magazine caught me by surprise and i was an excitable 12 year old
