I know there's certain methods to washing and retaining color too. What fabric did your friend choose because hers looks really nice.

I just never chose to use it because of reviews like these, But I know I need to research more.

This is a review from Moonteahouse:

Left is unwashed Right is washed
I used some hot water to dissolve the washing powder, then filled with cold water after that. Washing powder is phosphate free. Between each layer I placed a sheet of white paper so colours from a layer underneath won't show through.

From middle to outside:
• Cotton Voile (full swatch photo www.flickr.com/photos/moonteahouse/7991078200)
• Cotton Poplin (full swatch photo www.flickr.com/photos/moonteahouse/7991077666)
• Kona Cotton (full swatch photo www.flickr.com/photos/moonteahouse/7991077102)
• Basic Combed Cotton (full swatch photo www.flickr.com/photos/moonteahouse/7991067627)
• Organic Cotton Sateen (full swatch photo www.flickr.com/photos/moonteahouse/7991075978)
• Cotton Silk (full swatch photo www.flickr.com/photos/moonteahouse/7991075420)
