I've seen a million and one 'black roots to silver' ombres, but what about silver down to black tips?

I currently have waist-length hair, dyed black (twice) from the bottom half and a combination of faded-out black and natural brown at the top half.
I want to let it grow for another few months and then bleach and dye it silver, but I want to avoid damaging OR cutting the ends as much as possible.. Considering just doing a reverse-ombre and leaving the ends black. I can only find like two photos of anything similar, though.
