ZUN doesn't object to the vast majority of Touhou fanworks because copyright laws are different in Japan and let's face it, Touhou is kind of an institution there. What he has a problem with is people commercializing Touhou fanworks on a large scale- there was a company that produced body pillows in huge quantities, for example, and he asked them to cut that shit out. I don't think he would waste his time going after a doujin circle or fanartist.

I would totally buy a book of awesome couture-quality designs. Personally I'd prefer to see them in a photoshoot context on a model, because I think you can tell so much more story with a whole setup (I'm thinking of Kirsty Mitchell's Wonderland series as an example), but if the outfits are awesome enough I'd probably buy it even if the photos are of mannequins.

Pretty much this. It took me 3 years of selling at artists' alleys in order to even start breaking even, and the majority of those sales are from on-site commissions.

Someday I want to get a full Nextwave group together. I'm slowly breaking down my friends by first forcing them to read it and then bullying them into agreeing to cosplay with me, but I'll probably wind up having to make all the costumes. Boo.

Also, Agents of Atlas. But that seems even less likely

I tabled with my friend in the AA, and we were really pleasantly surprised! It was well organized, check-in was quick and easy, and having everything in the same room made it feel intimate and larger than it actually was. A+ first year, will definitely consider going again.

I only took a couple pictures of cosplayers, but there were some really nice cosplays there. The Rita Repulsa/Bandora was my favorite. My friend and I made shark hats (since y'know, Kraken) and dressed all dapper so we could be card sharks.

Just search for "blond" wig on Ebay. Most of the Chinese sellers don't specify strawberry blonde or reddish blonde or whatever, just blonde. You'll have to sort through a lot of actual blonde wigs, but you'll turn up more results that way.

I'm going to be cosplaying Wakasagihime from Touhou 14. Should I go for the wig on the left, which is a better color but I'd have to curl it, or the wig on the right, which isn't quite the right blue but is already the right style?

Dye tests for Wakasagihime (Touhou). I could't find a single printed fabric in the right green, so I figured I'd try dyeing a grey printed fabric so I could get her weird gradient. I'm really not happy with them, so I guess it's back to the drawing board.

It's really hard to find saturated dark greens right now, printed or not. I suppose it's the wrong season.

More like make a whole new one. The spear is the first prop I ever made, and it's literally just two pieces of craft foam glued together and jammed on a pipe. It's actually from one of my Touhou costumes and I pulled it out of my attic on a whim since I thought dual-wielding would look cooler.

My most recent, Valkyrie at Big Wow Comic Fest. I consider this a beta test, because holy god damn this costume needs work.

I need to completely redo the boob plates and gauntlets, get a new wig (this one was a piece of shit, that's what I get for being cheap), and make an accurate belt, not to mention oatz and squatz forever to get back into spandex shape. There's a reason I haven't worn anything skimpy lately, heh. But I'm stupid pleased with my sword, even though it really needed more sanding before I painted it. C&C routing makes everything so easy it feels like cheating.
