But we say a ''Charrue'' ...a plow, i think it comes from when a group of people bougth a plow together (or when a lord bougth it for them in exchance of taxes) and everybody could use it

Like that time when we made Clars Le Mage (the most powerful mage in all of Bicolline!...even if magic does not exist at bicolline, HE IS the most powerful) believe he ruined a ''Make a wish foundation''


It was the last nigth of the week , he took some mushroom like everyyear , after his normal trip we all acted like he did something very wrong because he get paranoid

We told him : Dude...there was this down syndrome kid who came with make a wish foundation and wanted to see bicolline and before the shroom kicked in you decided it would be a great idea to show him your magic, you ended up stealing the elves stash of firecrackers and we spent all nigth looking for you and the kid and when we found you you were bathing in the river singing and told us you left the kids somewhere in the woods

He spent all nigth trying to hide from the marechals that we told him were looking for the dumbass who did all this

We only told him the truth the morning after

For my defense, another young guy came one day during a campaign and we saw him...

The guy was in running shoes, with a badly made tabard ...a big 2 hand swords ,no armor and nothing on the head

and that was just before we started one of the roughest campaign of the year

he asked if he could join us to defend dulgaron
He looked like a dude who really wanted to roleplay but never saw combat or any type of good costume before

We told him : You will figth for us, but not like that.

20 minutes later, he had a metal armor on him, an helmet, a nice sword and a shield

We did not have any spare tabard so we gave him this one...pic related, he's the guy left of me

Also , this campaign was during a really hot summer day , most of the mercenaries we paid to figth for us left before the end, but that kid...that damn kid stayed until the end and fougth with the energy of ten men

I told him : I'd exchange 10 mercenaries for just one guy like you anytime

i...i do believe we made this young man's day

This thread is about Larp , and i wanted to tell stories because somebody asked and i was happy to share them

I'll first tell you the story of why we were figthing and how bad it all seemed for us

Dulgaron , a province in the south decided to rebel against the tyrany of the sultan , the True faith decided to go on the side of Dulgaron to defend believers against pagans

The sultan in a npc (fuck npc) with almost infinite money, everyone decided to sell their ass to the sultan to crush the rebellion

The true faith stayed true to their principe, the province of Haldorf and The kingdom of Arganne (who almost were in an all out war with each other for geopolitical reasons) became closer to each other , we realised that the two of us together plus the newly formed kingdom of Dulgaron was an awesome force and we made our stand against an army more numerous than us

they were so much more than us
they wanted to invade us and reduce us to silence
We wanted to show them something

Those who fougth by our side all knew they were gonna lose

it was all a matters of ...make them bleed for every inch of terrain , make them see how angry we are

Lowly peasant came to defend their lands, great knigth ,lords and their entourage came to the field to figth , and we all did, we saw our Great and beloved King Hubert of Haldorf , figth knee deep in the mud, side to side to The Regant of Arganne

All these mens were magnificient, we made battle in a place we call the gouffre (the deep) , the place was really muddy and the side too steep to climb, we fougth them (think thermopylae) and fougth them for hours

What they tougth was gonna be an easy battle, was one of the fiercest defense they saw , Lords, Knigth, peasants, womans , They all fougth

For Dulgaron

In the end, the sultanate troops won for our numbers was so much lower, but the war still rage on, and even if other kingdoms want to use the momentum of us being at war overseas to attack us in our back , they know...they know

We will make them figth for every inch

you can get killed by arrows, bolts, javelins
if you have a shield , you will mostly be safe
if you dont, then you will probably not be on the frontline and archer will mostly not shoot at you, you would be the one flanking them and killing them (unless you have a spear, then you will learn like me to be aware all the time of projectiles and using your buddies of the frontline to cover you)

A lower percentage than other weapon but 10 or 15% of 1000 people is still a lot

The bigger you are, the more nervous you make the ennemy, the less able to shoot correctly they will be

Everyone can play a peasant , it's the most basic role you can do and one of the funnest (my secret is i have a peasant costume for when i just want to go watch a show or drink without getting talked to for politicals or religious stuff , people know that when i'm in peasant mode (it doesnt happen often tho) it's the ''Dont disturb me please i dont feel for roleplay'' mode

Nah , Chainmail is actually one of the best type of armor to ''fit'' proprely, if you buy a used armor not made for you body it will be slack or too tigth , but the chainmail if you know how to distribute the weigth you will be good...also..chainmail look great on everyone if you put a little effort into it

Some do , i dont...i have no manual talent so i dont make anything myself, always ask for artisan i know

This pic is me (Templar on the left) with a friend from the states with a very nice lamellar , just after a really good battle of 200 (us) vs 500 (the enemy) ...we almost won it but a dude used some shady technique to kill our general (the dude acted like he was hurt for real, and we pulled him out of the mud , he then ran to our general to kill him... asshole
