Story time. This was at Empire in the UK
>Players come through a portal
>Voices (NPCs) appear in their minds, telling them either to destroy or protect an artifact
>Voices keep getting stronger and intense the closer the players get to the artifact
>People start going crazy
>Player's plan to deal with a scary ass artifact that causes madness to everyone in a huge radius:
Let's bring it back with us through the portal to the capital!

We later learnt that one of the player went berserk and destroyed it. Other players went berserk too and killed him.
Success for the skirmish crew!
