I also said hi to a separate Misato in the prereg line on Friday. I was really bummed that there weren't any sort of Evangelion photoshoots or meetups scheduled. I guess that I could have gone to the 3.33 screening to meet some Eva people but >3.33

My roomies are still suiting up for the rave so I won't be dropping my spaghetti at any meetups. Have fun.

One of the Tekken stations has been in black-and-white for the past two years. I shit you not. They also have the systems locked up in big boxes with padlocks on them so you can't get to the USB slots to hook up your stick, unless one of the staff does it for you and that's just for tournaments. It shouldn't bother me too much since I haven't played Tekken in almost a year so I won't be embarrassing myself by trying to play this year. If they have a lone setup with Rez on it again I'll be golden.

I'm getting into Baltimore around 9:30 Friday morning and it looks like I'll spend most of the day shopping and lining up for Yoko Kanno tickets (I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the Sunday concert yet, that's my event of the year). I'm going with a good friend of mine from college so even though I don't get into the stuff for the young people like cosplay and the masquerade I'll hopefully have a better time than I did at Anime Boston this year - I went there completely alone and had a terrible time. My thoughts go out to everyone who is going to be at Otakon alone.

Is it weird if I go to an Evangelion photoshoot just to take pictures, even though I'm not wearing a costume? I mean, I'm gonna do it anyway but I just want to know if its weird.

Would anybody know what this is if I wore it?

They had a skit which was supposed to be about "the darker side of war," where the three of them (representing Germany, Poland and Japan I think) stood silently on the stage gesticulating while their dialog was printed on the screen behind them, so basically like a silent movie. "I'm invading X, we're fighting Y, HIROSHIMA NAGASAKI was it worth it?"

Of course, the slides with their dialog printed on them moved way too fast for anyone to actually read. I have no connection to Hetalia and I was embarrassed by it.

Yes, more than maybe anything else I was embarrassed for having seen that. I don't know thing one about Hetalia but their cards were the entire skit and they moved too fast for anyone to read, provided that you even had a clear enough view of them.

I didn't have any trouble with it, but I didn't leave the convention center until I actually went home for the night. The actual checks were really fast, and on Sunday when I went through the AA the guard just groped my bag instead of even opening it.

I don't regret going because I know that I would have just felt worse if I had stayed at home, but yeah... soloing a convention sucks.
