With cards this year, I do not think they will get a chance to be checked seeing as I assume White Day activities will start in February.

This does not mean that you can shirked from sending out cards, though.

If we do not have enough/right amount of Angelic (grinch) Santas, there will be some gulls left without a gift this year unfortunately but I can at the very least try to send you folks an apology card. Hopefully next year the ratio is will in better favor with this new white/black list system.

Well to be considered a grinch, the giftee has to communicate to me that they did not receive a gift. Otherwise if you sent me a tracking number and I see that its been delivered or if your giftee does not respond to any inquiries you should be in the clear.

I'll make posting your gift a requirement for next year. I'm still debating whether or not to blacklist them for not posting the gift, especially for the higher tiers.

My reasoning is thus. If this event is about gift giving and not receiving, what better way to show celebrate it than by showing your appreciation via posting it on /cgl/?

This to me is as important if not more than being grinched.

Being mutual Secret Santas is one of the natural consquences of me manually assigning people with similar interests to each other. If you guys no longer desire that we can make it truly random and you can get santas with diff tastes.

No problem, I'm just mad at Word for always cutting off some characters. Its always after 256 characters or so.

The only way that I can prevent is some weird workaround every time, limiting wishlists into chunks of text and or double checking every email to make sure the data is all there.

I thought I fixed it this time around but looks like its still happening.

The remaining card assignments have finally been sent out. Will put up a poll later to determine if you guys are okay with randomized card assignments rather than personalized one.

Reminder: These are now NEW YEARS' CARDS, but if you still wish them to be X-mas cards, feel free to do so. As long as you mail them out before January 15th unless you communicate otherwise, you will not be blacklisted.

Just to clarify for people, its okay if the gift doesn't arrive by the 25th. Because of the late start, you aren't grinched until the 15th.

This does not mean that you can wait until the 12th of January to mail out your gift, at least without due notice.

SS is more about giving than receiving but being upset at no gift, no communication, or a really outrageously bad gift does call for justification.

Failing to reach the price range without an explaining is also bad. But I will leave it to you guys to determine what is bad and what the degrees of it are.

There will be clearer guidelines for next year or White Day, whoever is running that. Its not good to retroactively apply rules since there weren't outspoken rules. I await your email.

While I cannot generate a Blacklist from this year as of yet, I can create a Whitelist, a list of anons who are trustworthy who will get special priority of some yet to be determined perk or tier (i.e being able to participate in higher price ranges or more quantities).

Please send out your gift. There was no rule that you had to post pictures, implied yes but not outspoken or that you have to communicate. There will be more guidelines in the future.

Secret Santas are always full of the risk of grinching and bad gifts. But you are right, no communication is bad.

Also have you checked your email? I've been emailing people some tracking numbers/updates and I do not know if some have taken notice.

either you are international or I have not found enough people for you to be assigned to or assigned for me to be able to tell you what your assignments are. You got a card because someone in your country could only send a card nationally.

Either way, please consider the card assignments to be New Year Cards. I still do not have a solid eta on the card assignments. I can only say perhaps on Christmas.
