You'll be able to walk around the lower level of the hotel and the outer walkway areas of the convention center, but you will not be able to get into the huge open room where the food vendor, artist alley, various events, and dealers hall is. They were checking badges hardcore right at the entrance to that part. You could probably hang out in the hallway areas outside of it, but it'd be a bit boring.

The new location is odd because it's divided, the hotel is next to the convo center so it's like 10 ft between the two, so no outdoor walking but it breaks up the "action" so to speak. There's not really a nice central space to sit and people watch which was so nice at the Marriott.
Average food vendor in the open artist alley area, stupidly priced convenience store type food in the hotel. You can still walk across the street to the Denny's or Rivercenter mall's foodcourt for more options.

I didn't pre-reg for my badge last year and when I showed up Friday morning there was literally no wait at all for the on site badges; but the pre-reg line was ungodly long.

The cosplay contest, maybe the WCS just because I'd like to see what kinds of entries they get. Looking forward to the dealers hall and artist alley too, don't ever buy very much but I love looking.

Actually kinda excited for the Live Action cosplay contest, I'm not entering but I think it's a nice idea. I understand the complaints from some but whatever.

I was in Atrium 1 and I can confirm my room and a friend's room lacked ice buckets, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, spare blankets/sheets, tissue cover containers, desk clock, and the soap dishes. When calling the front desk, they told me they were "unavailable". I just wanted a hair dryer. The damn rooms were $214 a night with all the taxes (parking not included) and no hair dryer. What the hell.

Extremely displeased. The whole no amenities thing is what ruined it for me -especially for what they were charging. I would not stay at the Anatole again if the price doesn't go down or if they don't give the damn amenities back. Seriously, no hair dryer or ice bucket? I could live without the other things, but crap.

Maybe a shuttle could be arranged that came every hour from the next closest hotel? Would make staying elsewhere alot easier- you wouldn't have to try and park/pay at the con.

Oddly enough, most of the cons with fountains I've been to had left them up and running. Besides the vinegar bomb at Animefest, no one ever did anything. I'm surprised no one ever soaped them.

I keep hearing about the crazies and the hijinks, but what else is there, specifically? I always hear Akon is the worst about this stuff but no one ever elaborates. Do they steal all the toilet paper from all the bathrooms or something?
