Heads up on this though, let's say you do win at your next event, there will ALWAYS be someone bitching about how you entered it before, and sandbagging, and blah, blah, blah.
Just be prepared for that possibility.

About the con goers who couldn't get a room fridge: I go to cons with a friend who is diabetic and has to have insulin that's refrigerated. We were at one con that had mini-fridges, but only if you payed $50 extra (per day). We asked if they had other options available and explained that it was for medical reasons. They were really cool about it and stored it in a fridge at the front desk for her. A bit of a pain as she had to go the front desk to get it when needed, but just something to keep in mind for those with similar problems.

Send a quick email to the con security staff asking them about the con safety and their kid friendliness. They will undoubtedly write up a glowing report of their con as they want a good reputation, etc. Show this to your Mom and if she wants, show her the cons' webpage on safety. If she is still unconvinced after that, I have no idea. Good luck, you sound like an awesome sister.

Time Management: 1 What is this time management you speak of?
Prop Making: 5 You name it I can make it.
Wig Styling: 1 Never really tried.
Makeup: 3 Meh, average.
Facial Expressions: 5 Oh the expressions I've made...
Posing: 3 Average I guess.
Pose Endurance: 5 I've had to hold other people for pics so yeah, gonna say five.

I wish I had someone to follow me around and yell at me until it was done. I am hoping to have it complete by AKon, but, meh, I don't know.
