I am trying to upload more of my lolita coords because I've been wearing lolita a lot more recently but absolutely SLACKING on sharing my coords! I feel like in the last year I've really fell back in love with lolita and I'm probably wearing it the most I ever have atm. It holds such a special place in my heart so I'm very happy that my love for it has been reignited

I went to the London CUTE exhibit last month that had a pop up hello kitty x art box cafe. I really enjoyed both! I tried to go for a hello kitty inspired coordinate and I think it turned out really well. I have a kuromi and my melody jsk I wanna do a coord with next I think!

I'd google for free yukata sewing patterns or search "Japanese bath robe" "martial arts uniform" etc. You might try Mercari or other used goods sites. If you care about how it looks, get a Japanese one, China makes a lot of pseudo-Japanese stuff but it always looks off.

From a social standpoint it sounds like you don't have any skills that help you stand out or want to be talked to. Like stated above, being aesthetic is a great icebreaker. Without that you need a good cosplay. Good cosplay will get you pictures and will initiate conversation. No cosplay or aesthetics you can try the social events at cons. Game panels, game rooms, etc.
No one is going to come to you in this life. Ad if they do there's a 90 percent chance eof them being part of the mentally handicapped crowd that goes to cons.

Yes, thank you, you actually put into words what my feelings were in making this post in the first place, into one concise sentence.
As I've said, it's a spur of the moment decision, I guess I'll just wing it this time and put more of an effort the next one

Which I knew was the bare minimum was going to get out of it anyway, and I guess anything beyond that is just a win. I've heard that you normally have to bring your controller if you sign up for a competition, so I'll bring mine just in case

Not in the way you might think. Contrary to what some people may believe most women want someone around their own age, and most couples have a max age gap of between 2 and 3 years either way. If you look significantly younger than your age you might be able to hook up with people who look the same age as you look, but only if you are attractive enough to get hook ups in the first place (and you've already said this isn't the case) and only if they don't notice from your behaviour that you're not actually a college aged student.
Living a healthy lifestyle will help with looking attractive and being more confident, so if there are any aspects of your lifestyle you could improve on then do that.

There isn't enough time to make a proper cosplay before the next convention, my advice would be similar to what you already planned. Just go to the con, enjoy yourself (if you're not enjoying yourself there's no point), pick out some things from the schedule to go to so you're not only attending similar events all of the time, socialise and soak up the atmosphere. You might discover you don't enjoy conventions, but if you do enjoy conventions this would be a good time to plan another convention so that you have enough time to make a proper cosplay.
Going to a con alone isn't as much fun for anyone, so it could help to bring a friend who is interested in cons. If you don't have a friend who would be interested in going to a convention with you then you can get to know people online (not cgl, but some non anon anime/manga/game centered space) who live in the same area as you so you can go together.
