As long as you're with others, you should be good. That part of downtown is pretty fucking safe. Try the Stargate or the row of trees down by the church. Cobo has better lighting than the RenCen too.

For Chicagoland, Textile Discount Outlet in Pilsen and Vogue in Evanston are the best to go to. They have great selections, the occasional groupon/coupon, and staff that doesn't look at you like you have 3 heads if you say the word cosplay.

You also have to consider the character in your choices. Since I'm making Josephine, I'll use her for an example. She is an ambassador... Yes, her clothing is an odd design to us..and while silk and embossed velvet in those exact colors might be impossible to find and/or fund...think about the next fabric down the line: high quality satin. Now think about if Josephine would be caught dead in front of a court of important people with something that shines like an 80's aerobic instructor's tights. Go for something more muted in sheen and fake it, eeven if you have to head towards a champagne color over canary yellow. It gives the illusion of richness over gaudiness.

This is an interesting idea, but I can't say I'm a huge fan of it. If she's going off of Josie's backstory, there would be no need for the Inquisition seal on the cincher. I don't know, it feels like a cop-out on the original design. Opinions?

Pics, please! To be honest, the medallions were a piece of cake to do compared to the links. 11 vs 24? No big. I do understand the absolute uniformity of it all though. Sadly, I can't use that here right now because of a lack of ventilated space and near daily storms outside. The Sintra locks together great so far. I need to sand the pieces down of course..
