They were definitely weird about props. I heard that they weren't letting people carry certain props, but the guy that peacebonded my plexiglass sword thought it was made out of glass and was totally cool with me carrying it around. Broken nerf guns are not okay, but easy to shatter glass sword? TOTALLY OKAY. Strange.

I didn't like the "you can't line up more than 30min ahead of time" rule. I sorta get why they have the rule and in small hallways (like for panel rooms 2-6) it probably does a lot of good, but when I wanted to line up for panel room 1 and they wouldn't let me, I just joined a growing group of people standing near the line area and eventually the group grew to block the hallway pretty badly. There's a large space for panel room 1's line, I don't see why they didn't let us line up a bit early for those panels that were clearly going to be massively popular. Instead, when they finally let us line up it was terrible chaos.

Agreed. I made one that was similar to this, and it was pretty easy. I just bought two hoodies that were the same color; one that fit me and one that was as large as I could get. Pants or regular sweatshirt would would work fine too, just make sure it's the same material/color! I just cut up the second sweatshirt for all the added parts. But yeah, real easy. Looking at Kigu modifications is an excellent idea.

Hahaha, just posted about this elsewhere, but I wear my Toothless hoodie out sometimes and I've never had anyone say anything negative to me. In fact, people seem to really like it?

Hahaha, these are both such easy mode costumes. It was painful to look back at some of my older stuff, at the very least I use wigs now.

Started work on props for Arashiyama from World Trigger today. Decided to make him a Scorpion instead of the gun he usually has for general logistic reasons. Haven't fully decided which stencil to use, but I'm leaning towards the longer one. Also made some basic Triggers. Two will be full Triggers, the third will (fingers crossed) be two pieces connected with magnets so you can see the "circuitry" inside.

I wouldn't have such a problem with it if they actually supported it in some sort of way, but they rarely do. Their attitude seems to be "why buy when I can just have it for free?" Hell, they can watch stuff on Hulu for free but they don't, because watching a couple minutes of commercials for 25 minutes of free anime is too much for them.

They have this entitlement mentality towards anime and manga that just drives me up the wall.

My pet peeve is people who are "such big fans" but don't support the series they're "such big fans" of.

I letter manga, including a series that runs in Shonen Jump, and I really want people to get into it, so I'm always recommending the magazine to people. More often than not, they have some sort of excuse ready for me. Especially when it's my friends.
>But Jacuzzi, it's too expensive!
It's like $26 a year and you get something like 50 weekly issues.
>There's too much of a gap between the Japanese release and the English release
…It's like a day? Maybe two?
>Why don't they release it when the scanlators do?
Because they get leaked scans that are released before the magazine hits shelves in Japan and there is NO WAY that Japanese Jump would let the English version be released earlier.
>But I only read like 2/3 of the series in it, so there's no reason for me to subscribe.
HOW DOES THIS MAKE IT OKAY TO PIRATE THE TITLES?

I swear, pirating anime/manga is like some sort of Weeb Badge of Courage with some of my friends. I pirate shit too, I won't lie about that. But if I like it? I try to support it. Series I'm interested is simulcast on Hulu? WHY WOULDN'T I WATCH IT THERE? I just don't get it.

If someone lives someplace where they don't have legal access to this stuff, that's a different story, but 99% of the people I've talked to about this DO have access to it, but always find bullshit reasons to avoid supporting the industry and that seriously pisses me off.

Wow, I guess I'm really angry tonight.

This. My fiancee's parents are pretty religious and I'm very much not, so our plan is going to city hall to get married, then have a nice dinner with our families. Later we'll have a big casual party with friends. That way we don't have to worry about picking bridesmaids/best men or anything, and the costs should be way, way lower. We're both not really into big weddings, so this way works out well for us.

Planning on cosplaying Meliodas from Seven Deadly Sins but I'm lost on what sort of material to use for his pants. Because the damn pants are white, all the fabrics I've liked turn out to be a bit too… see-through. Even tried to double them up, but I can still see my hand through them. Any suggestions on fabrics to try?

Should I just get white pants and alter them?
If I do make them myself, should I use the same fabric for my shirt?

Thanks.

Starting my Arashiyama jacket and I have two questions.

First, and most importantly, I need to commission someone to make the patches on his jacket, two of the Border arm patches and one of his front squad patch. Any suggestions on who I could commission for these?

Second, and must less important right now, how should I go about going the stripes on the jacket? Should I sew them into sleeves themselves, sew them on top of the final sleeves, or…?

Thanks!

VELOCIRAPTOR!! Thanks for posting so much awesome, I'd reply to all of them and gush, but that would make for one loooong comment, so instead, Holy Shit, you post bad ass stuff.

Would join happily. Please get a Chesnut/Maron too.

If you want an easy group, Baccano has tons of fun characters and most are fairly easy to cosplay.

I want to get a full main cast Devil is a Part-Timer group together, but things always come up and most people drop out at the last second. Boooo.

Cuuuuute!

I went to the elementary school my mom teaches at dressed as a space(?) cowboy (?) monster. Ended up having to fend off a small mob of 10-year-olds that wanted to knock my antlers and upper jaw off. Kids are freaking crazy. Spent the evening at my parents' place, giving out candy and scaring people. Then went to a Halloween party over the weekend dressed at Maou from The Devil is a Part-Timer.

Cosplayed as Seikichi from Oh! Edo Rocket at Fanime a few years back and both the director (Seiji Mizushima) and character designer (Takahiro Yoshimatsu) were there. They seemed pretty excited that there was an OER fan there. (I'm super excited in this picture because not only is this the character designer, but the character sheet he's holding up is the original DRAWN IN PENCIL sheet, holy shit.)

Most of these depend on whether or not the group comes together. Shino I'd do on my own, and he should be pretty easy (though I sorta want to do his Fuse form), and I've been putting off doing a modern-ish version of Kitaro for nearly five years, so I'd like to finally get that done.

Unfortunately, Meliodias, Astro, and Kitaro are all supposed to be pretty short and I'm very much average height. I still want to cosplay them, but it makes me a little… weary? Sad? I don't know.

I'm making Maou's demon legs for Halloween, but I'm not sure how to keep them attached to my legs. As you can see in the picture, they stop mid-thigh. I'll probably have my pants go over the stopping point (not cosplaying just underwear, haha) so I could just sew attachments that would be hidden under the pants to hold them up, but I'd like the option to have them just… glued to my legs or whatever to hold them up if possible. I'm especially worried about moving around a lot in them and having them fall off my legs. Any suggestions?
