I would love to get a group together for this, but I've never found anyone who likes it, let alone has heard of it.

That shit needs to stop. The one at Sakuracon this year was massive (as usual) but then the grass area around it was fenced off, so instead of walking on the grass to maintain a safe distance you had to carefully squeeze around the screamfest and hope your prop didn't get busted up. One of my friends almost had the circle sicked on him and I knew that if the circle converged on him, he wouldnt make it out because you cant run away on that skinny little patch of sidewalk.

People who don't buy a badge and just ghost inside and stuff. I brought my friends to Sakuracon free of charge because Im a good fucking friend and they said they had no money to pitch in. I paid for the hotel and gas money out of my own damn pocket. But they sure as hell had enough money to buy each other food and merch. I got nothing, not even a cent. Not even a drink, not even a keychain from them. I was pissed. Never bringing them again unless they pitch in. Fuck being a good friend. That thousand dollar dent in my wallet isnt worth it.

Also, room packers. Im not talking 5 or 6 people in a room with two beds, Im talking people who are proud of cramming 29 people into two rooms.

I have a terrible feeling that drama is going to erupt with my room mates, so I'm also dreading it, but I'm mostly excited.

I'll be monitoring this thread for further info on the cgl meet up and such. As far as I know, it's in the first floor cafe on friday, but we haven't established a time yet.

Most of mine have already been listed. But pretty much anything that's popular on Tumblr right now is guaranteed to be all over the con and make my teeth grind. Even if the cosplays are decent, you get sick of seeing the same characters everywhere you look.

I didn't know this name was so popular in this context. What is it about the name Sebastian that makes it so fabulous? She's not even a black butler fan or anything.

They're awful. General Jelly Jiggler is laughably bad. Softon's jacket is the wrong color, as are his shoes. His head is barely tolerable; kudos on actually trying to make it though.

I'm still going to give you a get out of jail free card because, even if it's shit, I'm always tickled when someone cosplays from my favorite anime.

I wasn't a drawing weeb, I was a roleplay weeb. I saved all of the roleplays I've ever participated in, and they number more than 300. I keep them mostly to see how I've progressed with characters, comparing the ones I have now to my old mary sues. I also keep them for cringe factor because every one of them was a yaoi roleplay, and we would always move onto a new plot once our characters had sex in the current one.

I did all the other weeby things though. We would give each other nicknames. For each anime that we watched, we picked a character that we were and I was always the strongest, and wouldnt allow anyone to be stronger than me. For example, I was Lord Aizen from Bleach and no one could be Ichigo, and I was Giratina and no one could be a legendary Pokemon. I tried to be edgy and dark, always talking about horror movies, ghosts, and demons and shit.

I thank the Lord that I never went on 4chan during my weeb phase, and I never had a Gaia either. I was on Neopets, though, and made them my own Naruto squad. I also had a Deviantart where I posted my shitty writing since I couldnt draw.

Because the thought of being a teacher really appeals to me. So if i decide "aw yis teacher" then i already have the first two years out of the way. If i decide "aw well retail" then i still have two years of college under my belt to put me a smidge above the other high school only coworkers.

I was actually thinking of getting these first two years done and then working full-time in retail for a year or so and save up a bunch of money so, hopefully, i would borrow less when pursuing my actual degree.

Ive been putting off working on a costume for so long and I think i figured out the reason why.

Im not very excited about being this character. Th only reason im doing it is to fill in a group. I was so desperate to have another group cosplay done, where we could all be from the same thing and match, that i completely bypassed whether or not i would actually enjoy being this character. The outfit is entirely casual, but i dumped a decent amount of money on a great jacket for it, which i am now painting with fabric paint to make it work. But when I look at it, i just think "wow, i am totally slaughtering this jacket and i may never wear it again".

Im going to force myself to wear it even outside of cons just so i can feel like my money didnt go to waste. And from now on, im going to give groups a whole lot more thought. I envy the people who can casually say they will cosplay someone to fill in a group and dont seem to be bothered by it at all, because i have found that it makes me feel disgusted with myself when im not excited to be the character. i can easily spend a ton of money of an elaborate costume i will only wear once or twice a year if i love the character. Ive found that it's not worth the effort otherwise.

Im a part time cashier and I go to school part time. It's taken me a while, but im a little more than halfway done with my first two years of college. I'd like to be a teacher, but i also dont mind being a cashier. I might stay in retail and just work all the way up the hierarchy. I dont know exactly what im going to do with my future, but I know im going to be doing something. I go to two cons a year (so far) and am still heavily involved with my family.

I think cosplay should never be more than a hobby for anyone unless their job directly connects to it. I dont think any hobby should control a person's life so much that they run themselves into the ground. Next thing you know, they'll start collecting spirals or some shit.

I wonder if that's the reason why people dont like it. Everyone always says to me that they couldnt understand it, and i really dont think that's the point of it? I mean, it does have a plot (contrary to popular belief) but it exists mostly as a parody, full of random humor.

Anyone from Bobobo-bobo-bobo. I've considered going as Lambada, General Lee Fishcake, a genderbend of OVER, Giga, Beauty, Bobo-patch, and even Soften at some point.

It's my favorite anime of all time, but Ive never found anyone who appreciates it, not even slightly. I feel like any work I would put in to making one of these characters wouldnt do me any good because no one would recognize me anyway.

Ive got a group that has its ups and downs. They were all friends prior and I was introduced through some of their family members. I brought cosplay into the equation and even brought them to their first convention. We used to get all riled up about conventions and even went as characters from the same show once.

But now, I really feel like Im the only one pushing the cosplay hobby. Im constantly coming up with new characters while they're...not, so much. One of them is really good at making props and we rely on her a lot (which she doesnt mind, she's said she likes making props for people), but i feel like the other two are losing steam. One of them keeps getting more casual and closet with her cosplays (weight, overheating, money, etc) and the last guy, well I feel like he only cosplays because we all do. He never really talks about it unless we are.

My bf is a hardcore cosplayer. He makes everything from the costume to the props and enters competitions. He has his heads in the clouds a little bit in that he wants to be e-famous. But I want to cosplay with him more since we have similar levels of enthusiam. he's just fun to be with. I'd love to cosplay from something we both like, but he's more into gun-tech and sci-fi and im over here in fantasy and lore. I think we could find something though.

Im pretty stingy when it comes to buying new wigs, so i tend to resuse the same wigs over and over. I swear I've used that black wig for three different cosplays. Im hoping to expand into the other colors of the chart this year.

By "real hair" i assume you meant a wig made from real hair, but i dont have one of those so I just put a picture of my real hair instead. My hair is about two feet and some odd inches long at this point. I grow it out every year and then chop off a foot to donate it.
