I started working on Red Lantern Mera, FINALLY. I think I'll probably end up aiming to finish it for ALA. I'm gettin' real tired of making catsuits though.

The diamond? It's suppose to be bigger on the bottom than the top. Im going to top stitch in some detail lines and shit later.

I like themed costumes that are canon or close to canon (i.e christmas outfits) but im getting really tired of people throwing on cheap ebay christmas lingerie and a wig

tracking isnt very accurate this time of year. I just received a package today that the tracking says is still on the other side of the country.

whats the point of spending a bunch of money to do a shitty crossplay of a character you know nothing about?

>their attitudes are such a turn off
Your jelly is showing. They're both extremely nice, technoranma used to leave positive DA comments on my shitty costumes when I first started, and actually stopped me at my first AN to say she liked my shit tier costume, since it was a really infrequently done outfit.
I also frequently see them responding to questions on photos. Theyve been around the con scene for a long time and IIRC only go to larger cons now, do you really expect everyone to attend same boring Kariya gathering 5 times a year to qualify as "having a good attitude"?

I think the layers are the point. Madoka has a TON of layers of ruffles under her skirt

Are you willing to use Worbla? You can essentially do what Kamui did with her breastplate. Double layer of worbla, heated up and stretched over something that is the general shape you need. I did this for my shoulder pieces in Starfire and it worked out really well (...except I stretched it over my knee, since I didnt have anything round)

I'm just taking a guess based off of what she says, i've never done anything like this myself so I could be completely wrong buuuut

-500 yards of 1.5 inch ribbon (or in her case, 250 yards of 3" cut in half) You'll probably end up needing more though, because jessie is TINY

-7 circle skirts, approx 1.5 yards needed per circle skirt (assuming your waist measurement) = 10.5 yards of organza for the circle skirt.

- 6 layers of tulle, using the circle skirt calculator you'd need approx 9 yards.

- Horsehair and bias tape.. this part I have no idea. you could probably get away with a yard of horse hair.

TL;DR I'd estimate if your waist was 24 inches you'd need 500 yards of ribbon, 11 yards of organza, 9 yards of tulle, and 1 yard of horsehair braid.

if you need help estimating fabric amounts for the circle skirts, this is super helpful:

I get so buttmad by the end of the day when I do P4 cosplays because its just ALL HIIMDAISY QUOTES ALL THE TIME. It's a nice gesture and all but I get so tired of hearing U WEARIN UR KITTY PANTIES LUL or FSTEAK FSTEAK FSTEAK TRIALS OF THE DRAGONNNNNNNN all day. Yeah they're technically based off game quotes but.. not.. really??

I feel like in general Atlus changes a decent amount of Chie's character to fit the FSTEAK FSTEAK YEAH FSTEAK image the comic brought on when they released ultimax/golden.

The only other fanworks I can think of that had a large impact were YGO abridged. Fan works that got wildley popular, on the other hand, are a whole other story (and a lot more board relevant.) Stuff like DBZ abridged, and those pokemon gijinkas by artist in pic related are just a couple I can name right away.

I'm a college student, but I'm also a full-time assistant manager of a store, so that pays the bills and some parts of the hobby. Most of my cosplay is funded by selling old stuff, though. I've learned putting the extra time to make stuff higher quality +treating stuff well means I can usually break even or profit off of most costumes.

I dont think anyone is /butthurt/ per say. Some people just cant see dropping 3k+ for a hobby, which is understandable. Its not that she doesnt product 3k worth of quality, but rather that not everyone has that kind of expendable income for something they might wear twice a year. I think a lot of people forget shes not just someone who works on commissions during down time; its her full time job, and she has employees and a proper studio to work in.

No idea who that is, but did you pay for the photos? If yes, and its been longer than discussed originally, talk privately. whining anonymously wont get you anywhere. If no, quit bitching and realize that the photos probably ended up not looking good so its not worth them wasting their time.

this. seriously there's tons of articles comparing each.

if youre really that lazy

>foam
cheap
easy to get
not as easy to shape
not as strong
takes more effort to seal it and shit

>worbla
expensive
only a couple places sell it in person, so you have to buy it online
extremely easy to work with
technically you dont need to seal it but it does take effort to smooth out

>latex
what

i dont have any pictures of both of us after i fixed my rinko wig ;_;
>Do they enjoy it?
yup
>Are they the one who makes it?
usually a 75/15 split depending on what is involved (i cant make props or any of that shit, only sew and wigs)
>Just how willing are they??
if i make it, he'll wear it 99% of the time
>Did it take some convincing?
nah
>How far are they willing to go?
thats kind of a weird question
