Honestly, those hosen owed me nothing. Off-the-shelf, GDFB brand that I had for four years of hard use. Not bad for $45.

And they make my ass look FABULOUS.

Just finished watching the first episode of Netflix's Witcher. I had low expectations and was let down anyways.

Who's ready for 100 donut steel NOT!Geralts to start showing up to every event for the next year?

Start with cardboard mockups until it's perfect. Have a pattern.

>>10307140
Probably splitting my hosen in the middle of a fight, and wearing my novelty heart-print boxers (the classic white with read hearts). I got called Sir Arthur ala Ghouls n' Ghosts for the rest of that day.

>>10307179
You do it while the fire is out, or transport the it in. Duh.

Depends on the brand. Usually between three to five hours at full brightness before they start to fade.

You can get 50 of these single color red thin hoops with connectors for like, $20 online.

Email me canuck

Ok LARPthread, I'm full of turkey, and rum punch, and I'm feeling the goddamn Christmas spirit overtaking me. Let's do a secret santa.

Rules as follows

*This list is for continental USA only. Not being a dick, but logistics and cost are a factor

*Submissions are to be made to screwloosecircus AT gmail DOT com, no later than Dec 5th

*Gifts must be mailed by Dec 15th. I suggest USPS flatrate for cost/tracking/insurance.

*Keep it LARP or re-enacting related. When email submissions are made, mention your main genre (western fantasy, scifi, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic etc). Mention game system if possible

*Keep it legal and don't be a dick about packaging.

*it doesn't have to be expensive or anything, but actually make it something cool. A little handmade item, a cool little prop, etc.

*For quality control, everyone is getting a little something from me on top of your secret santa.

Who's in?

I hate to say it, but it's all trust. It's more of a trust think, with a central list of names/address.

Aside from starting with kids, and reading books, you're going to have to assemble basic equipment, and it's actually fairly easy to get started on a budget if you buy piece by piece

From left to right

>Waxed cordage, or thread and beeswax
>Leather needles, various shapes
>Edge slicker and gum traganth
>Exacto knife
>Edge skivver
>Rotary craft cutter
>Stitching punch
>General hole punch
>Rivet nippers
>Strap cutter
>High quality, heavy-duty craft scissors
>Lipped straight edge ruler
>Self-healing cutting mat

Not pictured:
>Ball peen hammer
>Anvil or other surface for setting rivets

I'm kinda with Anon. Have you just never played an actual game before? Warrior priests of sigmar are literally in every single main rule book, and all over campaign art.

That particular picture is based off of late 16th and early 17th century Catholic vestment. Not going to lie, I'm not a fan, and prefer the more common monastic habbit for priest of sigmar.

Here's a clearer view.

Basically, as >>10283838 says, in situations that are not typically LARP friendly: a dagger is a tool, or a weapon of self defence/last resort. Practical use requires getting in range, which means getting you are already well in your enemy's effective range before you're even useful.

Then you have to take into account that most larps won't let you wrestle or physically manipulate the opponent.

Depends on the system and the individual.

In general, like real life: not by itself or as a primary weapon. As a backup or offhand, there is utility.

If you take a dagger into a combat situation against proper weapons, 9/10 times, you're fucked.

Paint for the lower face, but don't skimp out. Pic related is my go to, and the same brand as my clown stuff. This one pallet will last an average larper for years.

Follow my makeup guide, and you'll have no problems. Type "Gropey the clown makeup" into google, and it should pop up in images.

As for teeth, don't bother. Things in your mouth in a moshpit is a choking hazard. If you feel the need to be themantic, get some tooth yellowing gel from a makeup store.
