I guess i'll bite. I've reworn/improved a few.

Fit and re-boned horrible bodice, made a better skirt & hoop skirt, got a better wig/more flattering wig

Threw together most of makos skirt. Too lazy/busy for a waistband tonight.

Finished adding wefts to Ardas Pippin! Its not perfect, but I dont really mind since it's going in a ponytail anyway.

Well for starters, there's already a con g thread. post it there.

Also, this photographer does this every con. Its one of those sites like redbubble where they upload a design (in this case a shitty "magazine") and the website takes a very large cut in return for producing and sending it to the buyer.

When I do NB i plan to just use pouches, a few clear straps and some double sided tape. Figuring our how to keep everything on and supported takes practise, my first attempts with Starfire failed but I think i've got it down.

Oh yeah I really suck at wigs, and ALA was too soon to ask someone for help. The strip is thicker, it just got covered up through the day with the black on top of it. Ive been practising, but the middle piece has always been hard for me. I just cant get it right.

I didnt cut the wig (nor is it color accurate) because it's one I had from another costume. Not going to cut it since its still being used.

Except the swatches are a LOT of effort. There is no track on the hair, they'll have to sew it themselves before sewing it in to the wig. Have you even owned one? The color samples are just free fibers held together by a piece of metal. If they dont know what kind of base wig to get, they're not going to be able to sew that themselves. The extra 8.50$ for wefts are worth the convenience for a beginner. They can save the wefts for a future project or sell the rest for 5$.

2009 was my first con/first cosplay. No wig (braids were ghetto ones from party city), dat "trim" on the "jacket", dress was bought from china town and hemmed by hand.

Now is a costume made from worbla (and a gradient wig that isnt shown), and a 2 way stretch (with the stretch going vertical) sequin bodysuit

Its great that shes being so honest with this post, its well written (at least from what i expected) and good on her for calling them out - have any other cosplayers done it? I was seeing one of them tagged in a bunch of photos since we're friends on facebook, I had no idea it was crowdfunded.

But then again, that's a lot of finger pointing coming from someone who raised so much money, bought a sewing machine..then commissioned the costume and didnt even buy shoes.

I'd be really happy to see buildfighters getting more attention, there isn't much out there from what I can find. I doubt gundam is going to pick up cosplay speed again though, at least not as much as you're thinking.
