Wow everything is looking super awesome you guys!!

What is done of my Queen Ashe skirt so far! It needs to be ironed and everything so thats why it's flared a bit. Need to paint on the details and add the middle piece. I'm really happy with how this cosplay is turning out so far.

I got a good makeup brush/eye shadow pallet for Christmas so I'm really excited to use it for cosplay.

1. Loose weight, gain muscle, especially for costumes that show tummy.
2. Work on makeup skills.
3. Get better at cosplaying in general (sewing, wigs, props, accessories ect. ect.)
4. Actually get photos of costumes this year.

I hope that 2014 will be better for everyone! I look forward to seeing everyones cosplays/lollita in the future!

Top row is definitely happening and bottom i just a few of many that I would like to get done. I'm really hoping that I can add Rosalina to the definitely happening this year list.

I've never bought a print before but if it was a cosplayer I really liked I would to support them. I feel the same about Artist Ally. A lot are very talented and I like being able to buy prints/buttons/ect to support them, plus their merch is awesome. If I was a popular cosplayer and people asked me to sell prints I probably would. I know it's never going to happen but to the cosplayers who do do it, I don't really see a problem with it. Cosplay is super expensive and if you're a popular cosplayer who is almost expected to always put out new costumes then it can really help go towards materials and what not.

My boyfriend did this for Miroku but he wanted to get his ear pierced anyway. He wants to get another hole pierced for Zoro since it's one of his favourite characters and he's going to be cosplaying him next year. The piercing looks really good on him anyways so I'm all for it (Plus Zoro is my husbando haha). Most cases you can definitely fake it though. But if you want that actual piercing then why not?

Yeah, also dont be afraid to use some heat to get your shape. A hairdryer on low can really help you keep/get the shape you want. Also please post pics in the progress thread! Blaze is so awesome.

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good Nausicaa wig. (Pic related, I'm doing the movie version in her first outfit) I've found a few but I'm having trouble finding the right color. So far out of the ones I've found I like this one the most.

Yeah they are super popular so it would be hard to find them around this time of year. I really like them, they are super detailed and just overall really nice dolls. If you'd like I can post a pic of mine. Also you should check out the MH thread on /toy/ and you can always ask questions there!

The first one is supposed to be like that, her hair is all over the place. She's Pascal from Tales of Graces.

Second was a prestyled Serah from FFXIII that I bought and just fiddled around witt he bangs.

Man the third one is so bad I know. It's actually pigtails though so that's why it looks weirdly parted. It was my first time adding wefts (since her hair is black with pink accents) and it was a pre back parted wig. I've fought with that wig so much haha.

Fourth and Fifth are pic related. Same character different outfits. I tried to replicate her hairstyle to the best I could (it looks even weirder in game) I want to redo her and def want to redo the wig. Yeah I did put way to much product in it.

Fifth I was pretty happy with the bangs they are pretty full and I did it how it looks in the anime. I'm not however happy with that costume or the wig really and want to redo it all.

Thanks for all your help though it means a lot and I will definitely be trying to make them look better for next year.

Just wondering, does anyone have a kotatsu? Theres been a few posted in this thread and I was wondering how big they are. My room is really small but I really want to get one since the winters are stupid cold.

I always feel like I make more costumes than I actually do. Although I unfortunately did not get Queen Ashe done for 2013 as planned so that could be why I thought I got more done.

2013 was great. I had a lot of fun at cons, made a lot of friends and learned a lot about cosplay. I wore Pascal at pretty much every convention since it was my favourite costume this year. Made my first weapons and learned a lot props in general (R.I.P bow/sword) I'm very excited to see how 2014 is going to go. Just going to keep doing my best and hopefully get even better. My Panty is trash because it was literally last minute and didn't have time to make her dress so just used one that I already had. So don't worry I know its bad, and I'd actually really like to redo her in the future properly.

My room is pretty messy right now since it's were I work on my cosplay stuff. Need to get more storage to put all my crap in. Plus want to get a good stand thingy to put my dolls/figures on.

The amount of details that go into the dolls and characters is incredible. It's a lot more and than homestuck and other simple tiered cosplay. There is a lot to do when it comes to cosplaying Monster High to all the details and the body paint/accessories (ex. Rochelles wings and ears there) Plus the patterning on the skirt. Also don't start with the 'they don't belong at an anime con'. Cosplay is about portraying characters you like for fun. There is never a rule about only being allowed to cosplay anime at an anime con and for the most part a lot of people don't. People are allowed to cosplay what they want and it's awesome to see different cosplays from all types of media at cons.

Please dont rush to get it done to be 'lolfirst' Look at all the horibad Jinx cosplays. Yes definitely bother with the straps since it's a detail apart of the costume. Especially when you pose with his sword they will be visable so add them. They don't have to be real straps but just still have them on there at least.

OP please have someone as Freddie too!!

I really want to have a giant One Piece group without repeats if possible. There are just so many characters and it would just be so much fun.

For once in my life I'm so happy I have small boobs. I definitely want to get one! I can't choose between the scouts though! I really hope they come out with the outer senshi as well. Also totally want to get the pjs and panties. Everything is just so cute!

I got mine from Pinky Paradise. I bought a small kit of the BB creams to test them out by the skin79 was my favourite by far. I'm not sure what the prices are on the amazon sellers but on pinky it was about $20

I actually got the job through my mom since she's been working for them for a while now and they needed another processor and she trained me as well. I really don't know how you could go about getting a job like this then maybe just looking around online and sending is resumes when you can. There is a lot you need to learn however but once you understand it, it's pretty good. It can be frustrating at times when the brokers don't do their part correctly. I'm sorry I can't help anymore.
