It's really not so bad. My husband and I have been together for over 10 years and we have all of our shit together. It really differs from person to person on where they want to be or can be with things. For Youma, there's also the people mover...which is a nice little tramway system if you don't feel like walking the 8-10 minutes between the two buildings. Both the COBO and RenCen have full food courts inside and there's Greektown's casino and grub options. I know we're about halfway done with booking guests now (I'm trying to get everyone in before maternity leave.)..

HUGE. In the past, it's been spread out through 3-4 hotels, along with the con center. There's the Expoteria food cafeteria attached to that, which has taken to hiding inside of the con center proper the last couple of years, along with the 2-3 snack bars inside of the dealer's area. A bit overpriced, but food is food. There's a bunch of outlet stores that recently popped up behind some of the hotels about a 10 minute walk off, but they have some good sit-down options. (Hofbräuhaus <3) There's always a ton of cosplay and people to meet. Lots of attention is put into the raves at night though. Not sure what Ken has in mind for guests this year though.

Other good cons in the midwest? Shutocon in Lansing, Ramencon in Merrillville, Anime Milwaukee in Milwaukee

And latex can get heavy, too. Have you thought about looking into how some people have been putting together Groot costumes for ideas as well?
