It costs a certain amount of money to mine Bitcoin, so it has a base level of value,

and it has many advantages to government fiat, its global, decentralized, fast, low cost and there is a hard limit on it (more cant/wont be printed).

But its not user friendly, its technical, and its easy to accidentally lose all your money.

I ask you: What is backing the Dollar? What gives the Dollar value? Is the government printing more Dollars? How many Dollars are in your bank? Do they actually hold dollars at the bank or is your money just numbers in a database?

Why aren't governments all banning crypto? Do they just not understand yet how this removes power from all financial services incumbents?

It's actually what bitcoin was supposed to be. You see the top row of this picture. It's wrong. Bitcoin is not fungible, Monero is. Fungibility is at the top of the table for a reason. Money that isn't fungible is terrible at being money. Delusional bitcoiners made this table and still believe it even though it is clear even with real world examples today that 1btc/=1btc.

You better not get into an argument with your teacher. Best thing is to compare it with fiat (why it is better) and try to answer all the questions your teacher might have in the presentation.

If your teacher still calls it a scam or whatever tell him/her that atleast it isn't based on debt, printed by jews and has to be pumped by the billions so it doesn't inflate etc

It has so many advantages.

1. It is the first truly global currency, you can use it anywhere with an internet connection (or even without internet by telling people the private key to a prefilled account etc)

2. It is programmable, you can do more than just transfer it. Examples are setting up multisignature accounts, contracts, verification and identification and more.

3. It is very secure: It has no central point of failure and cannot be counterfeited.

4. It is extremely practical as a currency, in that it is very portable, very divisible, very easily transferred, very durable and the supply is entirely predictable.

6. It is inherently free as in liberty, no one can force you to spend or not spend your coins on anything

7. It is very cheap to use, far cheaper than an intl bank transfer or paypal/CC purchase.

Bitcoin soaring right now to $870 in India, $788 in China and $750 in US. China is using it to avoid capital controls, and India to flee the cash ban. Imagine what will happen once cash is officially and completely removed from society.

Get in now or cry later.

>Because there's no buyer protection
There is. If you pay with bitcoin in steam you get the same protecction backed by the company as any other payment option.

>the price fluctuates too much to be any good.
It doesn't fluctuate if the prices are listed in fiat (again, Steam)

You get the superior technology + managed by the company if something goes wrong for buyer protection + pegged to fiat for stable price.

For personal p2p private transactions, it can also be used as cash, but a global cash with no intermediaries.

It's an objectively better gold. It will be similar to Berkshire Hathaway Class A in a couple of years in term of price. The fact that people aren't stacking up on as much BTC as possible proves how low IQ and low sentience most people are.
